Can you believe it?!
Pope Francis has been named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year!
Pope Francis most likely won’t care much about the honor, but I’m sure he’ll be happy for the same reason I am. People are listening to the Vicar of Christ.
I’m on the home stretch with finals, so I have only been able to scan the Time article. From what I’ve read, I’ve made two conclusions.
1) Non-Catholics (in the media especially) still don’t understand the Church.
2) Their collective foot is in the door.
Congratulations to Pope Francis and to the Church!
When the pope is recognized, Christ too is recognized.
I’m singing the chant that was sung for Benedict XVI at World Youth Day in Madrid, which still rings true for his successor.
Esta es la juventud del papa!

Well deserving, but I was taken aback that Time named him POY. What doesn’t surprise me is that rags like the huffpo are upset that the Pope got the nod instead of Snowden.

Really? I like Snowden, but come on, Huffpo.
